Terms of use · in effect since 17 October 2026
This text governs your use of the AutoFile app. By installing it and using it, you accept it. If any point does not suit you, do not use the app.
You give AutoFile a document in two ways: by sharing it from another app on your phone, or by importing it from AutoFile — chosen on your phone, or in your Google Drive through Google's picker, ZIP archives included.
A shared document: AutoFile reads its text and proposes a file name and a destination folder in your Google Drive. You check it, correct it if needed, and confirm. Nothing you share is sent to your Drive without this confirmation, except a shared ZIP archive whose contents you choose to file: it then follows the rules of an import, below.
An import: AutoFile files each document automatically, without a confirmation for each one, and the import's report says where each went. If your account does not cover what you import, the price is worked out and shown before any payment (section 5); no price is offered until you have agreed to your documents being analysed by the AI model.
In your Drive, AutoFile only reaches the files and folders you point it to in Google's picker, and what it created itself; never the rest.
The app's Tools tab also lets you merge PDFs, turn images (JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP) into a PDF, and turn each page of a PDF into a JPG or PNG image. Files are chosen on your phone; a tool never opens from another app's share menu. The file it makes, you either file in Drive through the same confirmation, or save or send elsewhere: what happens to it after that is up to you and the recipient you choose.
The name and folder proposals are produced by an artificial intelligence model. They can be wrong. That is exactly why, for a shared document, the app submits them to you instead of filing on its own: the final decision is yours, and checking it is your responsibility. An import, on the other hand, files without a confirmation for each document (section 1): you choose it knowingly, checking happens afterwards, on the import's report, and you can rename or move each document in your Drive.
AutoFile is not an archiving service. It keeps no copy of your documents beyond the technical retention periods described in the privacy policy, and is neither a back-up, nor a digital vault, nor a legally probative record-keeping solution. Your documents live in your Google Drive, under your own responsibility.
Your relationship with Google remains governed by Google's own terms. A suspension or restriction of your Google account, or a change to its interfaces, may stop AutoFile from working without this being attributable to us.
AutoFile is made for filing your papers, those of your household and those of your own professional activity. Reaching a cap is not a fault: the caps are there for that, and heavy use that stays within the caps is never penalised.
You agree not to:
If we find use contrary to these rules, we proceed in stages. Each one is notified, with its reason:
In the case of manifest fraud or a threat to the security of the service, the measure may be immediate; you are then notified of it with its reason.
Your safeguards. Every measure is notified and can be contested: write to contact@bencs.app and then, if the disagreement remains, turn to the mediator named in section 12. An unjustified measure is lifted and compensated. During a limitation, the documents you have bought remain usable. Your purchases are withdrawn only in the case of fraud or a serious and persistent breach.
A permanent suspension without fraud on your part refunds what has not been used and, for lifetime access, a share of the price calculated pro rata over a reference period of 5 years.
Someone else's documents. By linking another Google account to a profile, you guarantee that you have the agreement of the person whose documents you file, or the power to represent them. AutoFile then puts files in that account, which its owner can see.
AutoFile runs on a document balance. Filing a document costs one unit, whatever its number of pages. A document AutoFile failed to file, because the analysis failed or the service was down, is not counted.
The daily and monthly caps reset every day, at midnight (UTC), and on the 1st of each month. They exist to prevent automated use; someone filing their own papers will rarely meet them. Beyond either one, the documents you have bought take over. With none bought, the next document is refused, and the app gives you the reason and the date it resumes. Opening an archive: included up to what is left of your day; a larger archive is filed with a Bulk Filing, paid for separately.
No advertising appears while you file a document. A document shared while your balance is empty is kept, and offered to you the next time you open the app.
The tools (merge PDFs, images to PDF, PDF to images) do not touch your document balance as long as you file nothing:
The balance is attached to your Google account, not to your phone: it follows you if you change device, and reinstalling does not reset it to zero.
The subscriptions, lifetime access and purchased documents are sold and billed by Google Play. Google is the one that takes the payment, applies the displayed price and handles refunds — AutoFile never sees your payment method.
Prices are given for France, tax included; the price shown by Google Play at the time of purchase is the one that applies.
The subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancellation is done in your Google account's subscription settings, not in the app: uninstalling AutoFile cancels nothing. Lifetime access does not renew: there is nothing to cancel.
Refund requests are handled by Google Play, under its own procedure (support.google.com/googleplay). We set no refund deadline of our own, subject to section 4 for a permanent suspension.
Purchased documents. When your balance is zero, you can buy, once and with no commitment, a pack of 20 documents at €4.99, tax included. A pack credits your balance immediately and does not renew; purchased documents do not expire over time, but they remain attached to your AutoFile account. If your account is deleted, or if AutoFile stops being offered (section 6), any unused balance is lost, with no refund from us beyond what Google Play agrees to refund directly.
Bulk Filing is the price of filing one given archive or selection of files, paid once, from €1.99. Its price depends on the number of readable documents in the archive or the selection. It is the cheapest combination of bands of 2,000 (€12.99), 1,000 (€7.99), 500 (€4.99) and 100 (€1.99) documents that covers what your balance and what is left of your day do not, rounded up to the next price ending in .99. Prices in France, tax included, at most 5,000 documents per import. Files AutoFile cannot read are not counted. The price is shown before you pay.
Right of withdrawal. Purchased documents are credited as soon as you pay, and you thereby ask for them to be performed straight away. For a pack, the right of withdrawal is lost once a first document has been filed. For a Bulk Filing, it is lost once the archive has been filed; before that, the part already filed remains due. Google, as the seller, is the one that carries out this right and its own refund procedure; nothing written here is meant to contradict it. The 48 hours Google sometimes mentions are a commercial courtesy on its part, not the statutory withdrawal period — for the procedure that applies to your purchase, refer to Google Play.
Profiles. A profile files into its own main folder, with its own memory, in a Google account that may be the sign-in account or another one that you link yourself. The document balance, the subscription and lifetime access always remain those of the sign-in account, whichever profile is used.
The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. It depends on third parties — Google Drive, the analysis provider, Google Play — whose outages or changes may affect it.
Features may change. If a change were to substantially reduce what is included in an ongoing subscription, you would be told before it applies to you, and you could cancel with no penalty, keeping the use of what was included until the end of the period already paid for.
The subscriptions, lifetime access and purchased documents are digital services within the meaning of the French Consumer Code, and as such benefit from the statutory guarantee of conformity (Articles L.224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code): if they do not work as advertised, you can ask for them to be brought into conformity, for a price reduction, or for the contract to be terminated, under the conditions the law sets.
If the publisher were to stop offering AutoFile, reasonable notice would be given in the app before it stops. Any ongoing subscription would be cancelled with no renewal; lifetime access would end with the service; what happens to a paid, unused document balance is described in section 5.
The publisher is liable for damage directly caused by a breach attributable to it. It is not, however, liable for the accuracy of the names and folders proposed by the artificial intelligence model: these are proposals, not decisions, and checking them before confirming is your responsibility. Once you have confirmed a filing decision, the publisher's liability for the content or location of the document can no longer be sought, except for a fault on its part in how the service works.
The publisher is also not liable for damage resulting from an interruption or failure of Google Drive, Google Play, or any other third-party service AutoFile depends on.
Nothing in this text sets aside the rights the law grants you as a consumer, nor your right to redress if the publisher fails to meet its own obligations.
The app, its name and its interface belong to the publisher. Your documents and their content remain entirely yours: no licence to use them is taken, and they are used to train no model.
How your data is processed is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
You can stop using AutoFile at any time by signing out and uninstalling the app. Signing out revokes the Google permissions and erases local data, under the conditions described in the privacy policy.
Access may be limited or suspended only under the conditions, in stages and with the safeguards, set out in section 4.
If you have linked several Google accounts, signing out withdraws the permission of each one.
These terms may be changed. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its date. A substantial change will be flagged in the app before it applies, and if you do not accept it, you can stop using AutoFile and cancel an ongoing subscription with no penalty, under the conditions of section 6.
These terms are governed by French law. If you reside in the European Union, this choice does not deprive you of the protection given to you by provisions that cannot be derogated from by agreement, under the law of your country of residence.
In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first, by writing to contact@bencs.app.
In accordance with Article L.612-1 of the French Consumer Code, a consumer mediator has been appointed. This is the free, independent dispute-resolution body that French law requires for contracts governed by French law, such as this one — readers outside France should not expect an equivalent body under their own national law. Recourse to it is free of charge, after a written complaint sent directly to contact@bencs.app has gone unanswered or been unsatisfactorily resolved:
